Well, it was a decent start to the Poetry unit today. We read a number of cool poems together, with the promise that we will read a lot more between now and the end of the course.

Here are the poems we did yesterday and today. I also got the due dates posted on here and on the wall in the classroom.

Tuesday was the last day we were working on our CA in class.

Wednesday we went back to reading and doing Poetry

We got the Poetry Unit outline and we took a look at how the Double Entry Journal works for Task 1 for the Unit.

I also pointed out the Task 2 and 3 presentations, too.

Monday Dec 19

Ahhhhh ... culminating activities.

It's what we worked on today. All class. We got it done ... or, well, almost done.

Tomorrow, really we should be done.

Then, on to Poetry.

Friday Dec 16

So ... today was a Culminating Task / Activity day.

Students worked on Activities/Tasks and we worked together, too. We did a very brief review of "Film shots" for one question of a part of the final task.

Should all be good.

We will continue to work diligently on these activities on Monday, but it's coming to an end, soon.

Then, we'll get back to Speak.

By the way, I posted the due dates for the first part of Speak today, too.

Thursday Dec 15

We are back in the library today; it was awesome. People worked collectively and got their own material studied as well. Quite content.

Needed a coffee, but what else is new.

Tomorrow we are back in our portable to finish the writing sections of the CA and to move ahead on the next Unit.

Today we were in the library, still working away on our CA's together. We are in here one more day and then we are out into the portable for the last sections starting Friday.

I gave a good chunk of today to talking to students about their Flipped assignments due tomorrow.

I also gave a quick showing of days left before the Break and a quick intro to Poetry.

Should be cool.

Friday Dec 9

This was a catch-up period on Flipped.

Hopefully everyone got caught up in their work on Flipped, ready to hand in next week.

Thursday Dec 8

So ... it was another day with guest teacher, Batman.

We did actually finish the novel Flipped today. Woooo! We got the last two questions for homework, too.

We had Batman in as a guest reader today ... not really, it was me, just with a bit of a throat issue. Not sure if it's a cold, but it certainly made my throat sound like

In any case, we are almost done the novel. We got to page 189. We got questions 29, 30, 33 and 34 for homework.

Monday and Tuesday Dec 6

Well, Monday we lost, thanks to the OCA II.

Today .... we got to page 177 in the reading and we tried to get trough the Terms/Theme study together ... but it just wasn't working.

So ... stuff is due tomorrow!

Friday Dec 2

So today in class ... we did a significant amount of reading for Flipped - we got to page 144 in the novel ...

We got 24, 25, 26 and 27 from the list of questions on the novel for Monday.

Oh and we talked about due dates and these apps today too:

It's coming. Be prepared, ladies and gents.

Speaking of which, I let people know about the dates for the Culminating Activity for this course. I do have them, but I also asked my students to use their electronic devices to write them into their own calendar apps. We'll work on it together in class during those days I asked the students to input into their own devices.

I'll post the dates later on, too, loyal non-student readers. Although you might ask and see if our students did, in fact, input the dates for themselves.

Right. For the current unit, we read to page 111 in the novel Flipped.

I did see the film in the meantime, and I have to say ... it was merely ok. Not something I'd recommend to people to watch instead of reading the book, but as an aide memoire, would be ok.
